A new take on online learning
Making lessons fit to your schedule
Lessons are a huge time investment. You have to travel and drive your child or yourself to a location, you have to park, you have to rush to be on time. What if you left something at home? What if you can't find a good time to have a regular lesson in your schedule because you have to work irregular hours? What if you are not in a good head-space for a lesson and are grumpy the whole time?
what about online lessons?
Online lessons are a great way for busy people to get the lesson they want without disrupting their schedule. However, most people jump to Skype lessons as the default medium.
Skype lessons are not the answer
No, I do not think Skype lessons are the right medium for successful lessons. The sound quality is iffy, there is always some sort of delay or lag, and you have to block out time in your schedule to take the lesson which does not allow for much flexibility.
so what is the best way?
I believe that non real-time lesson are the best format for online lessons. This means recording yourself with your smart phone or a video camera and sending it to me for analysis. This allows you to choose what part of the day you will sound best. This allows me to take your video and give you ideas and feedback that will fit every learning type, not just auditory like most online lessons.
